- Preliminary Examination consisting of two Objective type papers (General Studies and Aptitude test)
- Main Examination(Nine papers of essay)
- Finally Interview
- Must be a citizen of India for IAS & IPS
- for other Services a citizen of India & Nepal
- Indian who migrated from Pakistan,Myanmar,Sri Lanka,Kenya,Uganda,Tanzania,Zambia,Malawi, Vietnam with Permanently setting in India
Education
- A Degree from a Central or State University (Correspondence or Distance Education)
- A Degree from any Foreign University recognized by Association of Indian Universities
- General Category must have age of 21-31 years
- OBC Upper age Limit is 35 Years
- For SC & ST age Limit is 37 Years
- For PH candidates upper age limit is relaxed according to other factors
Number of Attempts
- General Category only SIX(6) Attempts
- for OBC Nine(9) attempts
- SC|ST category UNLIMITED attempts till 37 Years of age
